EPOXY ASPHALT BINDER FOR STEEL BRIDGE DECK PAVEMENT
PRODUCT OVERVIEW
The design of large span bridges using steel box girder construction normally employs orthotropic steel plate surface structures. Due to weight restriction, light weight paving material is required for the steel decks. The performance characteristics of epoxy asphalts are found to be the most suitable binder for the polymer concrete pavement. The Bond Chemicals patented product, epoxy asphalt, with its durability and reliability is the best paving material for this application.
EP-306 is a cold applied epoxy bitumen designed for use in high performance road surfacing applications. The product has the combined performance properties of both bitumen and epoxies, such as water resistance, good weathering stability and good adhesion to asphalt and other common building materials. It’s the ideal material for laying wear resistant surface coating for cross-sea bridges and high friction surfacing coatings for highways and roads. This product is suitable for paving in both 1-step paving process and 2-step paving process depending on surface texture requirement for the application.

APPLICATION GUIDE
Application procedures:
1. Part A and part B of the product should be mixed thoroughly with appropriate mixing tools before use.
2. The mixed product must be used up within its recommended pot life.
3. The Product is used by cold blending on-site together with aggregates premixed into the product. Recommend to use 1 part of the product with 2 – 3 parts of aggregates depending on the size of aggregates.
4. In order to obtain good adhesion performance, surface of bonding area should be free of loose materials, water and other oily contaminants.
Storage Conditions:
Product should be stored under cover, avoid exposing to extreme heat and cold conditions. Recommend to store sealed products between 10 – 35°C. Once the seal is broken, the product should be used up within 4 weeks.
Shelf-life: 6 months
Packaging: 20kg、200kg、1000kg.
